Nickel and reactions

Nickel-safe — tested to UK REACH limits (BS EN 1811).

Meeting the nickel release limit is not a promise that nobody will react. Some people react to other metals or materials — cobalt, chromium, resins and platings among them. If your ears are sensitive, wear a new piece for a short period first and see how it settles.

In detail

A shaped wire that hooks over the top of the ear and follows the outer rim down, with a 20 mm decorative section at the front. It holds by its own contour rather than by grip, so there is no clip pressure at any single point — the usual reason people who cannot wear clips choose this shape.

Looking after it

Follow the existing curve when putting it on. Reshaping the wire repeatedly will work-harden and eventually crack it.
