In detail
The outer face is hammered so it scatters light instead of reflecting it in one line. The inner face — the part that passes through the piercing — is left smooth and stays at 1.0 mm across, so the texture is purely on the outside.
Looking after it
A silver cloth reaches the raised areas; use a soft brush for the recesses. Store dry.
